Date
The date is given as an interval of dates (first and last date). When allowed, you have two possibilities of search by date:
  • record with date crossing the given interval;
  • record with date including the give interval.
In the first case, choosing an interval to search, you’ll find all the records with a date fitting (even for a single year).
For example, if you are looking for records 1600-1650, you’ll find records with a date 1150-1600 but 1640-XX century too etc.. You’ll not find records with the last date preceding the first date of the search or the first date following the last date of research, such as 1652-XX century or 1150-1590.

In the second case, choosing an interval to search, you’ll find all the records with the initial date before the first date of the search and final date after the last date of the search. For example, looking for records with interval 1600-1650, you’ll find records with date 1500-1700, or 1400-1650, but you’ll not find records with date 1400-1500 or 1630-1800 or 1700-1800.

Simple search
Putting one or more terms in the dedicated field, that the system will read as a string, the search will start in the field of following records:
  • fonds: name, other names, content, archival history;
  • custodians: name (or last name if it is a person), other names, historical informations;
  • creators: name (or last name if it is a person), other names, description.
The string could be in different position in the text, for instance, looking for Comune di Belcampo, the system will give the records containing this word, such as Comune di Belcampo as well as Stato civile del Comune di Belcampo, etc.
It is possible also to use a jolly character (*) for all the sequences of letters, to search all the parts of the text fitting with a particular structure. For instance, searching *co*rocca means that the searched string must have the string co, preceded and followed by any kind of letters, but the searched string must contain rocca too. Among the results there are:

Comunanza agraria di Roccaporena di Cascia
Comune di Roccasecca dei Volsci
