SIUSA allows you to search through:

fonds, creators and custodians.

As fonds is intended as the whole of the documents organically created or accumulated, in a multi-level structure (complex of fonds, fonds, series, sub-series). There are two options of guided search:

• list of fonds, concerning whole of documents identified as complex of fonds, fonds or collections;
• general list of fonds, concerning archival fonds of any level: starting from the collections of fonds and fonds to possible parts, as series, sub-series and so on, according to the existing degrees of the archival structure.

You can also search by types of document, finding a general short description linking you to descriptions of connected archival fonds in the system.

With the option finding aids it is possible to see the alphabetical list of all the inventories and guides mentioned in the files of the data sets.

The creators are the corporate bodies, person and families that creates, accumulated or mantained and used the described archival records.
You can search through three guided options:

• corporate bodies;
• person;
• families.

Referring to the creators, some general information are important acess points, connecting to the description of all the concerned subjects in the system, such as:

• the historical and administrative context in which they performed their activities;
• the general institutional description, containing information about bodies of the same type (e.g. Communal bodies, public charities, educational institutes);
• the territories where the creators performed their activities.

The custodians are those public or private bodies, person or families taking the responsibility for the care and of the documents based on their phisical possession and that make them available.
